What is Transformative Trekking?
Experience Your ChangeWith life comes an ever-present stream of changes and challenges — new beginnings, difficult goodbyes, relationship transitions, uncertainty of next directions. Change can be difficult, at times painful, and yet unavoidable. How do we best navigate it?
At Stillpoint Journeys, we believe that these moments of change exist as opportunities to reflect and grow. We’re here to guide the way as you actively work through the changes in your life, emerging more self-aware, flexible, resilient on the other side.
“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”
Joseph Campbell
Science-Based, Action-Oriented
Our team utilizes the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as the psychology-based change process for each trek — an approach that is predicated on talking less and acting more. ACT is a well researched approach to behavior change that uses present moment awareness strategies to help individuals reduce avoidance of their emotions, which can move people off course and away from what’s important. Instead, ACT teaches how to accept difficulties and commit to making changes in order to move toward what is important.
- Experienced guides with backgrounds in behavior change

Your Values, Rediscovered
An important component of ACT is doing hard things in service of personal values. We define values as the quality of action that can meaningfully inform anything we do at any given moment — living generously, compassionately, curiously, flexibly. Through Transformative Trekking with Stillpoint Journeys, we want individuals to identify or rediscover their values so that they’re living a rich, meaningful life according to what is important to them.
